"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacals." Christopher Reeve
The quote above was said by a man for who many was a super hero as real as the one he played. In it he explains that one does not have to posses extraordinary powers to be a hero. He says that anyone has the potential to be a hero. I completely agree with this statement, because in reality there isn't any one with super powers. Soldiers, policemen and firemen are all normal people who perform acts of bravery that makes them heroes. The personal heroes in my life aren't fictional characters from comic books but completely tangible and real people. My grandfather is my hero. He served honorably in the 36th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division as a Staff Sergent with Light Artillery. He grew up in Memphis in a poor section of town. He worked hard Graduated College and R.O.T.C. served in the military and raised my mother. but, most importantly to me he was like a father to me when I had none.

ReplyDeleteThe sentence talking about where your grandfather served might be a run on sentence. I think it would flow better if you said--- He served honorably in the 36th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division as a Staff Sergent.--- you use 1st person and it fits.
